I know most people usually dont associate these two things together but the color pink excites me the most when it has something to do with food. I am obsessed with all things strawberry so naturally when I recieved a pink box from oreo, being the smart person that I am (LOL!) I may have figured out right away what was about to happen. Still, decided to play along and go through all the cute little drawers one by one till the last one revleaed the awesome new strawberry cream oreo. if you want to check out whats on the other drawers then join me on my insta stories later today nice friends. Oreo is Faizans favorite ever biscuit so he was a little concered with the new flavor but he approved it 100%. Aap bhe try kerain. I wonder sometimes if people would still share pictures of themselves everyday if there were no phone and digital cameras. You know how we used to have those Kodak films and you wouldn't know what the picture would turn out to be like till they were developed. No second chances or different angles or retakes. Bus jo hai woh hai. The flash causing red dots in eyes, or eyes being closed or the angle that makes you look 5kg heavier. We used to look, whine and move on (or sometimes secretly hide or burn those pictures too lolololol). Would we still be so active on social media if those were the pictures we could share? We are so used to perfection that we have the same picture in our phone in 50 different angles and poses and are still unhappy. But then we pick one. Edit it. Then it becomes social media friendly. This picture I've posted, was one of the 10 we took in this very spot. I was unhappy with my dupatta each time. I was unhappy because my shirt was silk and made me look big and khuda na khuwasta what if I uploaded a picture looking big and someone noticed, hai na? I was so annoyed that even Faizan started helping me fix it according to my liking. Now I feel stupid. You know why? Because it doesn't matter. It's okay to be ordinary and not picture perfect at all times. How many of you put up completely raw images of yourself online? No makeup, no filters, no edits, no retakes? Jhoot na bolna. Have you ever consciously known when you're doing something for the last time? You know how you meet a friend one day and then before you know it, you realize you havent spoken to/seen that friends in years and you wonder what happened there. Or the last time you went out on the street to play cricket with your gali wale friends. Can you recall that day? I've been thinking about a lot of "lasts" and there are just too many. There were people I met on a daily basis who I have no idea are where anymore. There are places that I used to visit all the time and now some of them don't even exist. It feels so weird when I look back at it because so many of those activities and people used to be such an integral part of my life - and now they are not. And there was no void, no sense of loss while at one point I couldn't imagine my life without them. I am not referring to losing someone to death, because that is a completely different situation - beyond anyone's control. Neither am I talking about something like the last day of school - because we all know it has to end at some point. Here I am talking about things that we could still be doing but somehow just don't. We moved on and didn't even realize it. Also makes me wonder what I would've done differently if I'd known I'd never get to do this thing/see these people again. Us humans, we are so complex. Woke up at 7:30am for our once every quarter breakfast date. We LOVE our sleep and HATE waking up earlier than we have to but this is an important ritual involving French toast, eggs and conversation about both our childhood obsessed with WWE so due respect and attention was given. The date lasted 45 minutes only (food came out pretty quick and then we ate equally quickly haha) but this gave us an extra 35 minutes to just hang out this morning vs the usual 10 minutes we have to chill on the drive to work. Doesn't sound like a lot of time but feels too too good to be able to be together a little longer. Bauhat maza aya even if our faces are telling a different story. As soon as we decided to take the picture, the sun came out and our eyes shrunk like a shirt that wasn't shrinked before stitching :).
